SBI Clerk 2016: State Bank of India has finally published the long-awaited notification for the recruitment of Junior Associate and Junior Agricultural Associate. The SBI Clerk 2016 Notification was expected a few weeks ago but was delayed. Nevertheless, SBI aspirants can start applying for the upcoming Junior Associate Examination from today onwards.
The online registration and application process for SBI Clerk 2016 has been initiated from today, that is, 5 April 2016 and will be open till 25 April 2016. SBI Clerk 2016 Vacancy

For the Recruitment of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) and Junior Agriculture Associate, there are a lot of job vacancies this year in various branches of the State Bank of India. As per exam notification, 13734 clerk vacancies will be filled this year.
  • Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales): 10,726 Posts
  • Junior Agriculture Associate: 3008 Posts
The following are backlog vacancies for OBC, SC, ST , PWD & Ex-SM.
  • Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales): 3218 Posts
The following vacancies are part of a special recruitment for the regions: Tura (Meghalaya) and Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
  • Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales): 188 Posts
So, the total number of vacancies in SBI Clerk 2016 Recruitment is 13734 Posts, without considering the backlog vacancies & kashmir special recruitment.

SBI Clerk 2016 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for SBI Clerk 2016 Examination has been clearly specified in the Exam Notification published by State Bank of India recently. Each SBI aspirant must go through all the important details regarding SBI Eligibility Criteria before applying online.
SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2016 consists of a set of requirements and clauses in terms of age, educational qualification and nationality. Let us have a look at it.
Age Limit: According to the dictates of SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2016, the age limit has been set for 20 to 28 years years as on 1 April 2016. Hence, candidates must have been born not earlier than 2 April 1988 and not later than 1 April 1996 (both days inclusive).
The relaxation in the upper age limit has been applied according to government norms. They are as follows
  • SC/ ST: 5 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years
  • PH: 10 Years
  • PH + OBC: 13 Years
  • PH + SC/ST: 15 Years
  • J&K Domicile: 5 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 Years
  • Widows, Divorced Women Judicially Separated: 9 Years
All SBI Aspirants must fall in the proper age limit. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of SBI Clerk Application Form.
Minimum Educational Qualification: The post of Junior Associate and Junior Agriculture Associate do not have same criteria when it comes to educational qualification.
  • For the post of Junior Associate, the candidates must a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognised college or university or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.
  • For the post of Junior Agriculture Associate, the candidates must a Graduation in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a Government recognised university/ Institute.  
SBI candidates who are in the Final Semester/ Year of Graduation can also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview/joining, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before 30.06.2016.

 SBI Clerk 2016 Selection Process
One of the major changes this year in SBI Clerk Recruitment was the change is exam pattern. The selection Process of SBI Clerk begins with an online test (Preliminary & Mains). The first examination, which is, SBI Clerk Prelims, will be conducted for 100 marks and will include 3 sections. Time allotted for solving this paper is 60 minutes (1 hour).

There will be sectional cutoff in SBI Clerk Examination. The candidates who qualify Prelims will be called for the Mains Examination. This will be a 2 hour 40 minute long paper with 5 individual sections and 200 marks in total.

Final Selection will be based on marks secured in Mains Examination and Interview, if conducted. SBI Prelims will be only qualifying in nature.

  • Prelims is qualifying in Nature.
  • Interview/ No Interview in the Final Round.

State Bank of India has a fairly simple application process. The Registration Fee set for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2016 is
  • Rs. 600/- for General and OBC candidates.
  • Rs. 100/- for other candidates.
You need to submit and pay fees through online mode only. Follow these steps carefully to submit SBI Clerk Application Form.
  1. Go to SBI Official Website.
  2. Click on Careers with Us.
  3. Under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2016-17/01, Select Apply Online.
  4. A new page will open. Select Click here for New Registration.
  5. After filling all the Details, Upload your Recent Photograph and Signature and Click on Submit to complete the application process.
  6. You can pay SBI Application Fee through Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking.
  7. Take a printout for future reference.
