SSC CGL Syllabus 2016



If you are preparing for SSC CGL 2016 Exam, the you must know the Syllabusfor both the Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exams.

Tier-1 Syllabus: In the CGL Tier-1, there will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ's) to be asked from 4 Sections viz. English , Reasoning, QuantitativeAptitude and General Awareness. Each section has 50 Questions and Each Question carry 1 mark.

The Total Duration of Tier-1 Exam is 2 Hours.


Penalty: There will be deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.


Tier-2 Syllabus: Those who Pass the Tier-1 exam, can appear for Tier-2 Exam. The Tier-2 Exam will have Sections viz English and Quantitative Aptitude.

1) Quantitative Aptitude: In the Tier-2 Exam, there will be 100 Questions from the Quant section and each Question carry 2 marks. The Duration of this exam will be 2 hours.

2) English: This section is tier-2 Exam, will have 200 Questions , with each Question carrying 1 Mark. The Duration of this Exam is 2 Hours

Note: In tier-2 Exam, there will penalty of 0.50 marks for Quantitative Aptitude Sections, while there will be penalty for 0.25 marks for English Language and Comprehension.


Descriptive Paper : SSC had introduced a small pattern change in the CGL Examination, be introducing a Descriptive paper. This paper is only for those, who Qualify the SSC Tier-2 Exam

The Duration of this Paper is 1 hour only and Questions in this paper will be asked from the following sections:

1) English
2) Quantitative Aptitude
3) General Awareness



Section-wise Analysis for CGL Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exams.



As of now, we have discussed the Syllabus for Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exam. Now, in this section, lets discuss about the weighatge given to each of the sections in both the exams.

What, we can form the above figure, is that Quant and English section carries theequal and maximum weightage. and Reasoning along with GA carries the minimum weightage


But remember, one thing that All the four Sections are Equally Important and carry similar wightage for Tier-1 Exam.

So Due Preparation should be given to all sections, but more focus should be onEnglish and Quant Section from the Tier-2 Perspective.




SSC CGLTier-1 General Awareness Syllabus 


This is high scoring and Time Saving section in the CGL Tier-1 Exam.

This section has 50 Questions and maximum time limit for this section is 20 mins

This Sections has Questions mainly from the Static GK, Sciences and Crap.

1) Static GK Comprises of Questions from Polity, Indian History& Culture, Geography and Economy.

2) In Science Section, the Questions are asked from Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Section.

3) The Crap Questions, comprises of Questions from Current Affairs, Current GK, Books and Authors, Persons and Place in News, Abbreviations etc.

SSC CGL Reasoning Syllabus

This Section has 50 Questions in the Tier-1 Exam. The Questions in this sections are asked from the Topics given below

Syllogism, Seating Arrangement, Blood Relation, Directions, Coding-Decoding, Statement and Conclusions, Statement and Assumptions, Analogy, Ranking, Series Problems and Non-Verbal Reasoning etc.


SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus


This is section with most weightage. In this section, 50 Questions will be asked in Tier-1 Exam and 100 Questions from Tier-2 Exam. This Section carries 250 Marks.

SSC CGL English Syllabus


We can say that this is easiest among all the sections and carries the weighathe of 250 Marks ( 50 Marks in Tier-1 and 200 marks in Tier-II Exam.)

TS TET Application- TSTET Notification

TS TET Application Form 2016: Payment process started. Candidates can now pay Registration fee and submit application online on or before 31st march, 2016 at www.tstet.cgg.gov.in. A candidate can apply for the Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test On-line by log in TSTET official website http://tstet.cgg.gov.in only. First Decide the mode of payment of fee. The candidates are not required to send hard copy of confirmation page to TSTET unit. However, the candidates are advised to retain the hard copy of the application i.e. confirmation page.
TS TET Application Fee:
Fee and submission of TS TET 2016 Application Online: The fee prescribed for appearing for APTET (including examination fee) is Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred only) foronly Paper-I or only Paper-II or both.
Candidates can pay the fee through TSONLINE or e-Seva/mee seva centers between 15.03.2016 to 30.03.2016 and submit online application at the TSTET website http://tstet.cgg.gov.in between 16.03.2016 to 31.03.2016.
Procedure for submission of TS TET 2016 application online:
Detailed procedure for applying ONLINE is given in the Information Bulletin. Candidates can download the ‘Information Bulletin’ free of cost from the TSTET website: http://tstet.cgg.gov.in from 01.03.2016 onwards. Candidates can submit their applications online from 16.03.2016 to 31.03.2016.
Required Documents for TS TET Application
·         Scanned image of latest photograph in Jpeg format only.
·         Scanned image of signature in Jpeg format only for uploading.
·         Copy of X Class Certificate.
·         B.Ed/D.Ed Certificate or marks memo.
·         Payment Receipt for Journal Number & Payment Date.
·         Other Higher qualification certificate if any.
On submission of application form online the candidate shall be given reference ID number which should be kept carefully for any kind of future correspondence. Submission of application can be considered to have been completed only on receiving reference ID number.
On completion of submission, the candidates shall take a printout of the application and store it for future use. Candidates should not post the printout of the application to TSTET office.
Fee payment process started on 15th March, 2016. Candidates can now pay application fee from any TSONLINE or e-Seva/mee seva centers or through online from www.tstet.cgg.gov.in. Last date to pay application fee is 30th March, 2106. After payment of application fee candidates can proceed filling online application on or before 31st March, 2016.

According SCERT Director chiranjeevulu. the timings of exams is 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM . The extra 15 min is for understanding the questions. For II/Second language the timings is 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM because it is only single paper where other are 2 papers.
Each subject consists of 2 papers except II language. The exam is of 80 marks and 20 marks for internals. I paper of each subject is of 40 Marks . II paper is of 40 Marks. No objective paper is there.
The candidates those who are appearing as pvt candidates the exam duration is 2 1/2 hr i.e.. 9.30 -12.00 pm. There will have the paper of including objective paper. All the arrangements have been completed for the for coming exams. Students of 10.978 high schools are appearing exams for this time.
